Since my freshman year, I was fortunate enough to gain the opportunities to train and enhance my user experience related skill sets in fields including games, investment, education, AR/VR, ToC business, and more.

  • UX Research: Discord Study(Mar 2020 – Jun 2020): Led a research team to evaluate Discord’s effectiveness in supporting both daily and in-game communication. Conducted surveys and in-depth interviews, uncovering user behaviors and pain points. Delivered actionable recommendations to streamline features and improve onboarding, broadening Discord’s appeal to new users.

  • UX Design Project: 2D RPG Game Development (Sep 2020 – Mar 2021): Managed a remote, cross-time-zone team of five game developers to design and launch a Unity-based 2D RPG during the pandemic. Oversaw level design, UI/UX, and narrative development, ensuring an engaging player experience.

  • UX Design Project: Cooking Pal (Jan 2024 – Apr 2024): Led end-to-end user research, conducting contextual inquiries, interviews, and surveys to uncover challenges in organizing cooking events for college students. Designed a mobile app integrating checklists, menu planning, and bill-splitting to streamline event coordination while accommodating dietary preferences.

  • UX Research Project: MPIX Usability Assessment (Jan 2023 – Apr 2023): Managed a research-driven evaluation of MPIX’s printing service website, using personas, user scenarios, heuristic analysis, and competitive assessment to identify UX improvements. Delivered insights that expanded the client’s target audience and enhanced purchase engagement.

  • UX Research Project: University of Michigan Career Office (Sep 2022 – Dec 2022): Conducted stakeholder interviews and contextual inquiries to analyze project management inefficiencies. Proposed cost-effective solutions to optimize internal workflows and enhance user experience within budget constraints.

Role: UX Designer

  • Conducted two rounds of user testing and created reports that informed design iterations for the company’s browser extension.

  • Designed browser and mobile versions of the extension and the boarding process of the mobile extension app, enhancing user satisfaction based on research insights.

  • Collaborated closely with product managers to iterate on website UI/UX using user heat maps and high-fidelity prototypes, improving the overall user experience.

  • Supported the sales team by gathering and analyzing client requirements, ensuring clear communication and alignment with product teams.

  • Conducted 5 in-person qualitative research to understand the users’ need in XR domain, informing comprehensive solution to support educational and presentational purpose.
